China Flight Details

Up up and away…

Greetings China Crew,

Well the tickets are being booked and we just wanted to give you a few pointers about securing yours. The prices for your flights will start going up 1 month before the flight departs. So you want to get your ticket before June 14 or June 21 depending on which trip option you have selected.

We also have been noticing with www.kayak.com, www.orbitz.com and other online ticket sales that often when you select the flight the price goes up substantially or is not available.

So I am recommending you check www.koreanair.com Their service is excellent and they, in many cases are cheaper than the other sites. So use kayak or orbitz to find the flight and times and then book directly with the airline so you know your getting a good price.

Use the multi-city option to get exactly the flight you want. This allows you to put in several cities. For example Miami-LA, LA-Beijing, Beijing-LA, LA-Miami. You can customize your journey that way.

Here are some key dates and times:

For Option A the journey that starts in Kunming(KMG) on July 23rd you need to arrive by 4pm for our welcome dinner. That means you will want to book your flight leaving home on July 21st or 22nd. For example if you leave the west coast in the early morning you can leave on the 22nd and make it to Beijing by the 23rd. But if your leaving from the east coast and making a connection in San Francisco or LA then you will want to leave on the 21st.

For Option B, the journey that starts in Beijing(PEK) on July 16th you will want to arrive in Beijing(PEK) by 6 pm on July 16th. Just as we mentioned earlier, if you leave early in the morning you can depart on the July 15th from the west coast but if your coming through from the east coast you may have to fly on the 14th.

The bottom line is that you will want to talk to someone on the phone and be sure your plane is arriving on the 16th or 23rd CHINA TIME.

Our trip will end in Kunming for both options, if you don’t want to book your own flight from Kunming back to Beijing then we can help you book that connection once in China. It will save you money to book it as a group once we arrive in Kunming on the 23rd. Also I’m planning on flying back with you from Kunming to Beijing to see everyone gets home okay!

The sooner you get these logistics taken care of the better, because then you can start focusing on preparing yourself to get the most out of this trip on the mental, physical and emotional levels. Remember once we get to Southern Cloud there will be ample time for rest, relaxation and fun!

To give you just a little preview let me introduce you to Teacher Yang who will be with us for a good portion of the trip. He’s in the middle of the picture at the top right of this e-mail.

Once while in the middle of a class Teacher Yang called all of us over to sit and listen. He began quoting the Yellow Emperors Classic which is a 3000 year old text that lays the foundation for Qigong, Chinese Medicine and Chinese Culture. In this book can be found advice on all aspects of life from eating and breathing to sex and relationships.

Teacher Yang quoted the classic saying:

“The mind and spirit return inward.

Breathe in the lowest part of the abdomen.

Feel your original energy overflow.

From where can illness come?”

He then took us into a simple and powerful standing practice.

I’m looking forward to practicing with you all and Teacher Yang in China.

In the Qi of Logistics,
Kai
